Also that sure is a question. Wei Wuxian pauses for a second and seems to consider something - but it appeared to be fine when people who broke into Purple Heart's cabin shared a little more amongst themselves, so long as they limited the spread to others. So he nods.]
I'm quite sure that Black Shadows is someone I know, yes.
Ah? Not at all! That looked very similar to where I lived, hah. The Demon Slaughtering Cave, I called it! [He's talking like this is so fuckin normal.]
I had the blood pool where I kept my fierce corpses, an area where I'd had to restrain Wen Ning for a while, and another sealing circle for my tiger seal.
[ he wants to comment, he really does... but then he remembers his own living situation back home, and decides to simply shut the fuck up. ]
Okay, so like, why the blood pool. Does that... preserve the bodies? [ beat ] Is that why Wen-han is keepin' the people who've died in there, for safekeeping?
It does, yes. Back home, they'd feed on the resentful energy that collected there, but the pool itself has properties that keep a corpse from deteriorating further. If this one functions anything like that, then yes, that's why Wen Ning's keeping them in there. I couldn't sense any resentful energy from the one they were actually in, at least.
[ shut the fuck up you're gonna curse me again just like you did to nikkari ]
...guess that's what he meant in the journal. The entry where he was talkin' about havin' enough room for when more people start to kick it. But why go through all that when we know their... spirits? Souls? Or whatever are bein' kept somewhere else, like they always are with these games.
Mm, that's exactly what he meant. If he runs out of room and we need that, it could be a problem. [RANDY THEIR BODY PIT...]
...I'd guess it means that for some reason, we still need those bodies. Not necessarily to return to, but in some cases a spirit needs something tangible on the "other side" to cross back over, you know? Or it's possible that the spirit wouldn't be able to exist without a body to be tied to, even on the other side.
... guess it works out that he was one of the ones who got put in charge here, then, huh? Someone who knows what they're doin'. I'd say that's a pretty lucky coincidence, but... well. Ya know. All of this is pretty much the complete opposite of lucky.
Hah, true enough, you'd have to be quite unlucky to end up saddled with a job like that!
[HE IS VERY TIRED. Life is tiring, but it's surely even more tiring for their directors, good LORD.]
I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing, though - to think he was put here on purpose. If he was, then it's possible it was only done to give us a false sense of hope.
[Since they'd of course trust a man with a connection to death to perhaps find ways to help them skirt around the rules.]

I've seen who's under that hood, for the record, if that helps ya out any.

Then I do know who he is, quite well. That cave was one the two of us shared, quite some time ago. [HIS ZOMBIE...] You've spoken with him, then?
